Tour itinerary

01

Arrival in Almaty. Excursion

City tour: Panfilov Park, the Cathedral, the Glory Memorial built for the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Republican Museum of Musical Instruments, and the Green Bazaar. Then, a cable car ride up Mount Kok-Tobe and a stroll through the park. Return to the city. Lunch is free (not included).

Almaty – Charyn Canyon – Kolsai Lakes – Saty Village

Transfer to Charyn Canyon (450 km, 4.5-5 hours). An easy walk along the “Valley of Castles” trail, which runs inside the canyon to the Charyn River. Lunch (included in the price). Then, transfer to the Kolsai Lakes (1.5 hours). Walking tour. Transfer to Saty Village. Dinner (included in the price).

Saty – Lake Kaiyindy – Kegen checkpoint – Karakol

Jeep tour to Lake Kaiyindy, located at an altitude of 1,667 meters amidst a pine forest. Lunch (included in the price). Transfer to the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border at the Kegen checkpoint. Customs formalities. Transfer to Karakol.

Karakol – Jeti-Oguz – Issyk-Kul

Transfer to the Jeti-Oguz Gorge (30 km, 40 min) – translated from Kyrgyz as “Seven Bulls Gorge.” Walk through the gorge. Excursion to Karakol; the wooden Church of the Holy Trinity, the Dungan Mosque – a magnificent example of Chinese architectural style from the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Then transfer to Cholpon-Ata (210 km, 4-4.5 hours). Lunch is free (not included).

Cholpon-Ata – Bishkek

Excursion: Chyngyz Aitmatov Cultural Center “Rukh Ordo,” Open-Air Petroglyph Museum, Cholpon-Ata Museum of Local History. Lunch is free (not included). Then, transfer to Bishkek (265 km, 4 hours). En route, stop in Tokmok to visit the Burana Tower architectural complex.

Bishkek – Tashkent (evening flight)

Excursion: Victory Square, Ala-Too Central Square, Oak Park, the National Philharmonic Hall and the square in front of it. Lunch is free (not included). Evening flight to Tashkent.

Visit to the Khast Imam complex, the oldest Chor-Su bazaar, the famous plov center of Besh Kozon, Independence Square, an exterior view of the Romanov Viceroy’s Palace, Theater Square, Amir Timur Square, and Tashkent’s “Broadway.” Free lunch (not included).

Tashkent – ​​Urgench Airport (morning flight) – Khiva

Morning flight to Urgench. Transfer to Khiva (30 km). Tour of Ichan-Kala, the inner city of Khiva. Free lunch (not included).

Khiva – Bukhara

Transit through the Kyzylkum Desert (430 km, 6-7 hours). Lunch en route (not included).

Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Registan Square, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, Siab Bazaar (closed on Mondays). Trip to the village of Kunigil (7 km), visit to the Meros silk paper workshop. Visit to the “Eternal City.” Lunch is free (not included).

Samarkand – Penjikent

Excursion: Shahi-Zinda architectural ensemble, Saint Daniel’s Mausoleum, Hazrat Khizr Mosque, Ulugh Beg Observatory. Lunch (not included). Transfer to the Jartepa border. Customs formalities. Transfer to Penjikent. Excursion: Rudaki Museum, the founder of Persian poetry, and the ancient settlement of Sarazm (UNESCO).

Penjikent – ​​7 Lakes – Dushanbe

Transfer to the Haft Kul Valley (Seven Lakes) (80 km). Visit a cascade of seven lakes, each characterized by its own unique water color. In some, the water changes color throughout the day or depending on the weather. Lunch (included in the price). Next, transfer to Dushanbe (280 km, 4-5 hours).

United Museum of Tajikistan, Botanical Garden, oriental bazaar. Free lunch (not included). Drive to and visit the former residence of the viceroy of the Emir of Bukhara (30 km) – the Hissar Fortress.
