Arrival in Tashkent. Excursion

Arrive in Tashkent early in the morning or the day before. Transfer from the airport to the hotel. Excursion: the Khast Imam architectural complex, the oldest Chor-Su bazaar, the famous Besh Kozan pilaf center, where pilaf is cooked in huge cauldrons. Independence Square, an exterior view of the Konstantin Romanov Palace, Theater Square, Amir Timur Square, and Tashkent’s “Broadway.” Lunch is free (not included).

Tashkent – Gisht-Kuprik checkpoint – Shymkent – Turkestan (345 km, 6.5-7 hours)

Transfer to the Uzbek-Kazakh border at the Gisht-Kuprik checkpoint (20 km, 40 minutes). Customs formalities. Transfer to Shymkent. En route, visit the sacred Kazygurt mountain, at the foot of which the Ak-Bura spring flows, and the Mausoleum of Saint Akbura (Akbergen). Lunch is free (not included). Tour of Shymkent: Local History Museum, Arboretum, Shymkent Arbat, Makhdumi Azam Mausoleum. Transfer to Turkestan (160 km, 2-2.5 hours). Visit to the Altyn Samruk Flying Theater.

Turkestan – Sauran Fortress – Turkestan – Gisht-Kuprik Checkpoint – Tashkent (405 km, 7-7.5 hours)

Visit to the ancient Sauran settlement (40 km) – a huge city by medieval standards, famous for its madrassas with swaying minarets, as well as its unique water supply system – the kyariz system. Tour of Turkestan: Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum, Khilvet Underground Mosque. Lunch is free (not included). Then transfer to the Kazakh-Uzbek border at the Gisht-Kuprik checkpoint. Customs formalities. Transfer to Tashkent.
