Arrival in Almaty. Excursion
Arrival in Almaty. Transfer from the airport to the hotel (check-in at 2:00 PM). Excursion: Park named after 28 Panfilov Heroes, the Cathedral, the Glory Memorial built for the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Republican Museum of Musical Instruments, and the Green Bazaar. Then, take the cable car up Mount Kok-Tobe, where you can admire a magnificent panoramic view of the city. Lunch is free (not included).
Almaty – Altyn-Emel National Park (jeep tour, 450 km)
Transfer to Altyn-Emel National Park. Upon arrival, lunch at a guesthouse (included in the price) and transfer to the multicolored chalk mountains of Aktau with their magnificent “lunar” landscapes. Aktau is approximately 400 million years old. Enjoy an easy walk in the surrounding area. Return, accommodation at a guesthouse. Dinner (included in the price).
Altyn-Emel – Charyn Canyon – Kolsai Lakes (jeep tour, 480 km)
Transfer to the “Singing Dune.” If the wind blows, the fine, clean sand of the dune begins to “sing,” and the sound resembles organ music. Transfer to the Charyn Canyon, stopping en route in Zharkent. Visit the Dungan Mosque-Museum, church, and local bazaar. Lunch (included in the price). Transfer to the Charyn Canyon. An easy walk along the trail in the “Valley of Castles,” which runs inside the canyon to the Charyn River. Then transfer to the Kolsai Lakes. Accommodation at a guesthouse and dinner (included in the price).
Kolsai Lakes
The Kolsai Lakes, the “Pearls of the Northern Tien Shan,” are a cascade of three lakes. The largest and most accessible to tourists is the most beautiful, characterized by its lack of civilization and abundance of mushrooms. Horseback riding enthusiasts can book a horseback riding tour here. A three-hour ride to the middle lake (optional), or you can simply stay and enjoy the mountain air and stunning scenery. Lunch and dinner (included).
Kolsai Lakes – Kaiydy – Almaty (jeep tour, 350 km)
Transfer to Lake Kaiydy, located at an altitude of 1,667 meters amidst a pine forest. It was formed as a result of an earthquake in 1911, when a powerful landslide blocked a gorge, creating a natural dam. The lake is famous for the trunks of flooded trees rising straight out of the water. A walking tour around the lake. Transfer to Almaty. Lunch and dinner (included).
Almaty – Medeo
Departure to the Medeo gorge (1,690 m), home to the world’s largest high-altitude ice rink. A 20-minute cable car ride to the Shymbulak ski resort, 2,260 meters above sea level. The resort is renowned for its mild climate, stable snow cover, and magnificent views. Departure to the Big Almaty Gorge. Visit to the Sunkar Falconry. A show featuring birds of prey. Return to Almaty. Lunch is free (not included).
